Nathan Montez was a dedicated Dobie Longhorn who loved being part of the school band and dreamed of studying medicine or veterinary science at Texas A&M University. While Nathan’s life was shorter than we hoped, his impact lives on. To honor him, his three older brothers matched the savings Nathan had set aside for his future to create scholarships for students at J. Frank Dobie High School—and so a tradition began.

Scholarships for this school year will be awarded to members of Dobie’s Senior Class, a class that holds special meaning as it is the one Nathan would have celebrated graduation with. Through your support of the Blue Bee Project, these scholarships will carry Nathan’s legacy forward by encouraging students to follow their passions, just as he hoped to do.
