YOU MATTER

YOU MATTER

Please, please know that you are loved, and you matter. The world is a better place with you in it. We have lost too many beautiful people with good hearts, and I do not want to lose another precious soul.

As we move into the end of the year and the busy middle of the fall semester, we know how heavy things can feel, especially for young people. School, responsibilities, expectations, and life can feel overwhelming at times. But please remember: there is always a caring, loving voice out there. You are never alone. If you are hurting or feel like you can’t talk to someone close to you, please reach out to the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988. Someone is there to listen.

Tonight, our hearts are especially tender as we think of Nathan’s friends celebrating their senior homecoming. This would have been his final one, too. We are so touched by those who continue to honor his memory in beautiful ways, like one of his dear friends who wore a special homecoming mum in blue, white, and gold, complete with tiny bees in his honor. Gestures like this remind us that love does not end.

To Nathan’s friends: you remind us of all the lives he touched and the love he left behind. Thank you for keeping his light shining so brightly. We are truly blessed by your kindness, encouragement, and support. Please remember you matter, too.

Let’s all continue to reach out and check on each other, to remind one another that we matter, that we are loved, and that we want to see each other’s faces every single day. Together, we can create a world where hope lives on and no one feels alone.

If you or someone you love is struggling, please know help is available. In the U.S., you can dial or text 988 anytime to be connected with support.
